Reba and Barbara Jean Back Together Again
Okay, technically a Reba and Barbara Jean reunion isn’t happening but their portrayers, country music icon Reba McEntire and actress/comedienne Melissa Peterman are teaming up to work together once again. CMT is launching its first sitcom, Working Class, this coming January. Peterman will play Carli, a single mom who aims to give her kids a better life by moving to an upscale suburban neighborhood. Once there she soon discovers that the better life she was hoping for is harder than expected and possibly not all it’s cracked up to be. TV veteran Ed Asner and Broadway actor Steve Kazee costar as Peterman’s cranky next door neighbor/co-worker and brother respectively.
Reba recently announced that she will appear in an episode while serving as a guest DJ for CMT’s Radio Live. Taping of the episode is set for sometime in December. Working Class will debut with two back-to-back episodes on Friday, January 28th at 8:00 pm EST but further details regarding an air date and Reba’s role are not known and will follow at a later date. Reba also made a brief guest appearance on CMT’s The Singing Bee which Melissa also hosts. Prior to that, the two friends shared screen time for six seasons on the popular WB/CW series Reba.
