Lady Antebellum Honored
Lady Antebellum played two sold-out shows on Monday (11/15) in Augusta, GA. Augusta is the hometown of two of the groups members, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley.
Before performing the group was honored by the City of Augusta. The trio received a key to the city and a street named in their honor. The city also plans to honor the group by naming a new pavilion in a planned city park after them as well.
I’ve got to say we owe so much to the community. It’s always been so supportive of us. Wherever we go, we take Augusta, Ga., with us. - Dave Haywood
Prodeeds from the mid-day concert went to the Medical College of Georgia’s Children’s Medical Center. In addition, they also surprised three teachers from Kelley and Haywood’s alma mater by presenting each of them with $1,000 OfficeMax gift cards for their classrooms.
