The Academy of Country Music will be honoring Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Carrie Underwood for achievements throughout their careers thus far with a special titled Girl's Night Out: Superstar Women of Country.
Reba has been crowned Top Female Vocalist a record setting seven times, more than any artist throughout the Academy’s 46 year history.
Martina has received the Top Female Vocalist honor by the ACM three times in 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively. ACM Lifting Lives is honoring McBride for her dedication to raising awareness about domestic violence as well as championing female empowerment through her music. “Independence Day” and “Concrete Angel” are just a couple shining examples.
Miranda Lambert is the only female artist to win Album of the Year twice, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend back in 2007 and in 2009 with Revolution.
Jennifer Nettles, half of the country-pop duo Sugarland, is only the second female artist in ACM history to not only write but perform the winning Song of the Year solo with 2007’s surprise hit “Stay”.
On Tuesday, February 1st, reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda Lambert and Ronnie Dunn will announce the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards nominees.

Miranda Lambert has joined "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night." lineup. The event is set to take place December 1 in Los Angeles. LL Cool J will host the event and in addition to Lambert, Justin Bieber, B.o.B., Bruno Mars and Katy Perry will also perform.
This is the third year that the Grammy nominations will be announced LIVE on TV. Last year's airing of the nominations special reached more than 7 million viewers and led to double-digit percentage increases in all key demos for the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast earlier this year.
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will take place February 13.
We already know that Miranda Lambert already celebrated her 27th birthday with a big night and three wins at the CMA Awards ceremony, but now we know what Miranda's fiancee CMA Award winner Blake Shelton got Miranda for her birthday gift. An Apple iPad.
"She's freaking rich, man." Shelton said, "She can get whatever she wants." So he does his best to keep up on what's new on the market so that he can buy them for her before she has a chance to get them herself.
The couple, which has been dating for five years now, is planning for a spring wedding next year. Shelton said that they're at the point in the relationship where they can just tell each other what presents they want. Seems like a pretty good system to me!
Blake and Miranda ware the reigning male and female CMA vocalists of the year.
Taylor Swift and Kid Rock, both off performances at the 44th Annual CMA Awards, will both be performing on the upcoming American Music Awards. The show will air on Sunday, November 21st on ABC.
Taylor Swift is up for Favorite Country Music Female Artist along with Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.
The other country music awards on the show include Favorite Country Music Male Artist which has nominees of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley. Favorite Country Music Band, Duo or Group which has nominees of Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts. Favorite Country Music Album which has nominees of Jason Aldean's Wide Open, Lady Antebellum's Need You Now and Carrie Underwood's Play On.
Kid Rock will be releasing his new album, Born Free, on Tuesday, November 16th.

Have you ever wondered what kinds of things go on during an award show like last nights CMAs that we just can't see on television? Well, Billboard dished the dirt on their web site for us.
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton dominated the night both in front of and behind the cameras with their multiple award wins. Billboard points out that some people were just how talented their children will be!
With the soon-to-be-wed Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton dominating the night, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley said he was anxious for them to have a child so they could "See how good that thing sings."
Loretta Lynn also gave her approval of Miranda saying that "Nothing in country music is more country than Miranda." I have to agree, she's got twang, she's got attitude and I hear she's just about always packing some heat in her handbag! Got to love that in a woman!
Miranda Lambert didn't have to throw herself a 27th birthday bash last night, the 44th Annual Country Music Awards had that covered for her. Miranda was nominated for a staggering nine awards and walked home, or more likely floated home, carrying three trophies. She won awards for Music Video, Album and Female Vocalist of the Year.
Miranda's style is more rooted in hard core Texas country than a lot of the artists around the country music scene, but that didn't stop her from rocking out in a Ramones-esque version of the John Prine song "That's The Way The World Goes Round," from her latest release Revolution, a song that rocks harder than most actual rock and roll songs on the radio today.
She then went into that pure country mode when she joined Loretta Lynn and Sheryl Crow on Lynn's classic hit "Coal Miner's Daughter." The difference in the style between the two songs couldn't be greater but Lambert handled both with ease. Even though she's been around the country music industry for almost a decade, I think we're seeing the true birth of a superstar here.
Brad Paisley is the CMA's 2010 Entertainer of the Year. So much for all of the controversy leading up to the Awards regarding the new blood in the Entertainer category. We had Lady Antebellum saying that their nomination was extremely premature and Miranda Lambert saying her nomination was weirding her out since she just started headlining tours this year. Zac Brown Band was also up for, and won, New Artist of the Year, so the only two veterans nominated were Paisley and Keith Urban.
It was Paisley's first win in the Entertainer of the Year category, one he had been nominated for every single year since 2005. He gave a heartfelt acceptance speech and thanked all country fans for not only supporting him but everyone else in the industry as well. Paisley was humble, recalling something Little Jimmy Dickens once told him. "When you see a turtle on a fence post, you know that he had some help getting there. I feel like a turtle on on a fence post."
