Randy Houser And Little Big Town Share Songwriting Secrets Tomorrow On NBC's Weekend TODAY
Randy Houser and Little Big Town will be featured on NBC's Weekend TODAY in a special segment titled "Secrets of Songwriters." We'll get a look behind the process that inspires the writers and find out how they go about crafting a song.
Houser was recently honored at the BMI Awards for writing one of country music's "Top 50 Songs of the Year" with "Boots On."
“Sometimes I’ll be sitting on this couch and the words will come from out of nowhere and pop into my head…. I’ll grab a pen and paper and the lyrics will start coming almost faster than I can write,” Randy explains from the den of his Nashville home. “Other times I’ll draw blanks and leave a song incomplete and not pick it up again until I’m inspired by someone’s story I hear out on the road.”
Give The Gift Of Music
Give the Gift of Music is the collaborative effort of many music industry trade groups, artists, retailers and music labels to spread the word that music makes an excellent gift for birthdays and holidays or a great way to say “Thanks,” “I Love You” or even “Congratulations.”
The goal is to educate consumers of the many music and music-related products that are available in the marketplace. Hear artists share stories about their favorite music gift, post your memories, send your music wish list to your family and friends, and search the new release database for exciting music-gifting ideas.
It's a place to give and share your love of music with others. And find out what artists have to say about music and what it means to them.
Here's the answer to what some of our favorite artists said was the most memorable musical gift they ever received:
Little Big Town: For me the very first gift of music I remember receiving was Emmylou Harris ‘Roses In The Snow.’ A friend of our family, a bluegrass player, gave me that record. I played it and wore it out.
