Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Welcome Baby Girl
In a surprise announcement, Keith and Nicole reveal that there is a new addition to their family. On December 28th, Urban and Kidman’s biological daughter, Faith Margaret, was born via a gestational carrier at Centennial Women’s Hospital in Nashville.
Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.
Baby Faith joins big sister Sunday Rose who Nicole gave birth to in July of 2008. Kidman also has two adopted children with ex-husband, actor Tom Cruise.
Congratulations to Keith, Nicole, Sunday and their families.
The Best And Worst Of The Inaugural American Country Awards
Carrie Underwood walked away as the big winner with six awards at the Inaugural American Country Awards on Fox. The show featured some killer performances, but not a whole lot in the line of awards. So how did the show stack up to the other slew of country music award shows?
On the plus side, the ACAs were overall high energy and filled with performances. I think Trace Adkins was the perfect choice for the host. For one, he's as country as country can be and you don't get the feeling with him that he's wearing the cowboy hat just for show. He was also very witty and very funny. If the ACAs come back for a year number two, I hope they keep Trace around as the host.

If you were thinking of entering and haven’t done so yet, better hurry because the deadline for submissions is November 30th, one week from today (www.yournextrecord.com). The competition is open to unsigned artists, age 18 and older, living in the continental US.
So, what will the lucky winner receive? The prize package includes: a 3-song EP recorded with a top producer, a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree, $10,000 worth of new gear/endorsement deals from Gibson, D’Addario, Planet Waves and Evans, a feature of the winner’s single on itunes, an opening slot on a Keith Urban show and Urban will appear with the winning artist on a song. Yes, that’s right…one very lucky winning artist will have bragging rights and can say that Keith appeared on their single! For aspiring artists I’d imagine that would just be the icing on an already pretty good cake.
Keith Urban: Halftime in Real Time
Fresh off a week filled with promotional TV appearances and hopping aboard Amtrak to “Get Closer” to fans upon the release of his latest album Keith Urban is set to hit the football field next. This week Keith heads to Dallas and the “Big D” for rehearsals in preparation for his halftime show appearance during the Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints game on Thanksgiving Day (3:15pm CT on FOX). The performance is part of the kick-off of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. Cameras will be following Urban throughout his time in Dallas for a documentary entitled Keith Urban: Halftime in Real Time, for the NFL Network, which will take viewers behind-the-scenes of what goes into pulling off this type of production, the first of its kind profiling a Thanksgiving event. The documentary special will air Saturday, November 27th, at 10:30pm EST on the NFL Network.
Edit: If you don't get the NFL Network in your area, you're in luck because GAC will also be premiering the special on Wednesday, December 1st at 10:30pm (EST) as a GAC special event.
Keith Urban Announces 2011 Get Closer Tour Dates
Keith Urban is going to do his best to keep both his fans and his family happy when he heads out onto the road in 2011 for his Get Closer tour. Urban will hit 44 cities on the tour, with the first date being on June 16th in Mobile, Alabama. The schedule, which lets him do two or three shows then have a few days of off-time, will allow him to spend more time with his family and also, he hopes, give the crowd as much energy as he can on each and every stop of the tour.
"I think we should never be going through the motions up there if we can avoid it," Urban said. The tour will feature a new stage production and some new songs from his sixth album Get Closer.
Urban plans to release international tour dates and opening act information later.
