Gwyneth Paltrow Called On Faith Hill And Beyonce To Ease Her Fears
It took a lot of guts for actress Gwyneth Paltrow to get up and sing in front of the capacity crowd at the 44th Annual CMA Awards. I mean, it is bad enough when you're not a professional singer to get up and sing in front of ANY crowd, but this was a crowd of just about every country music star on the planet plus label folks, radio folks and lots of fans. Add the millions watching on TV and it could be a downright terrifying ordeal!
Gwyneth called on her friends Faith Hill and Beyonce to help her get over her fears.
"I kind of asked my girl singer friends (for advice). I asked Faith (Hill) a lot of questions and Beyonce, actually, too," Paltrow told Access Hollywood.
Paltrow also admitted she had studied Beyonce's live shows to pick up tips on how to appear confident onstage. I guess the advice helped out as Paltrow got through her song without a hitch and even got a standing ovation of approval from the country music crowd.
How do you think she did? (video of performance below)
Family Comes First For Faith Hill
Faith Hill is a country music icon selling over 40 million records worldwide. Recently parade.com caught up with Faith and chated about balancing her busy career with her most important role as mom to her three daughters.
On juggling career and motherhood.
I constantly work at maintaining balance. For me, my family comes first. If my family is taken care of then everything else usually falls into place. My family and my friends are most important to me. These people are my foundation. And it's okay to take time for yourself. We give so much of ourselves to others and we need to be fueled both physically and mentally. If we are in balance, it helps us in all our interactions.
When she feels her most beautiful.
"This may sound funny, but I feel my most beautiful when I'm clean, fresh out of the bath. I don't have to be dressed up. I could be in comfy clothes at home hanging out with my family."
Her favorite beauty tip.

There's just no stopping Taylor Swift. Last night at the BMI Songwriters Awards Taylor won the Country Songwriter of the Year award, becoming the youngest person ever to claim it. And she and co-writer Liz Rose shared Country Song of the Year for “You Belong With Me,” recognized as the most-played country title over a full year, according to the performing rights organization.
Taylor has had an emotional week as the day before she had just sang at a friends funeral.
“It’s been a really emotional week,” she told the crowd. “He was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang.”
Other awards of the evening went to songwriters and music publishers to honor significant airplay for such titles as “Cowboy Casanova,” “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” “Big Green Tractor,” “American Ride,” “One In Every Crowd” and “White Liar.”
